At ACE Free Clinic, we believe in the power of community and collaboration. As a member, you’ll play an integral role in our mission to provide essential healthcare services to the most vulnerable populations in Los Angeles. Our dedicated team works together to create a supportive environment that fosters growth, learning, and impact.

General Meetings:
We hold general meetings every other Thursday night, where members come together to discuss ongoing projects, share ideas, and connect with one another. These gatherings are an opportunity to engage with our community and learn more about the various ways you can contribute.

Committees:
Joining ACE Free Clinic means having the chance to be part of one of our five dynamic committees, each focused on a crucial aspect of our mission:

Committee Choices & Times:

  • Women's Health - Wednesday 6:30-7:30 PM: The Women’s Health Committee works to address the unique health needs of women in the community through education, outreach, advocacy, and resource distribution. We develop programming on sexual, reproductive, and maternal health, raise awareness of gender-specific health concerns, and help our members better understand the health disparities and challenges that disproportionately affect women. We also engage directly with the community by distributing essential hygiene and wellness supplies and volunteering with local organizations that support women and their needs.

  • Mental Health - Tuesday 6-7 PM: The Mental Health Committee focuses on highlighting the importance of emotional and psychological wellbeing in health. We work to create more tangible, supportive tools for our community, by creating workshops targeting a range of conditions from managing stress and anxiety to attending mental health fairs to bring light to the important of care and help break the stigma surrounding it!

  • Health Education - Thursday 6-7 PM: This year, Health Education will be working on several projects including analyzing clinic patient data, creating and translating vitals station cards, translating clinic resources, and presenting at research symposiums! We’re looking for people passionate about health ed, skilled in data analysis, or fluent in other languages – but everyone is welcome, no experience required! Join us and let’s make health literacy accessible to all!

  • Fundraising - Tuesday 5-6 PM: ACE Free Clinic serves underserved populations in Los Angeles. This is the finance committee, so we handle the financial strategy to support this mission and to help it grow. We do this through community fundraisers and nonprofit grants, ensuring the organization has the resources and medical supplies to keep delivering care to those who need it most.

  • Social Outreach - Wednesday 5-6 PM: The Social Outreach Committee serves as a liaison between ACE Free Clinic and the wider Los Angeles community, organizing impactful health events and educational workshops. We actively cultivate strategic alliances with local organizations and healthcare providers to build our clinic’s resources and visibility. We use targeted community outreach and social media strategies to ensure that our care reaches the underserved populations that need it most.

  • Nutrition - Monday 6-7 PM: The Nutrition Committee is dedicated to providing knowledge about nutrition to communities through advocacy, community partnerships, and education. As a member of the Nutrition Committee, you can expect to provide educational presentations at schools and community centers, build community partnerships such as community gardens, create UCLA-based educational campaigns for students, and more. In this committee, you will learn more about what it means to have a nutritious lifestyle while addressing food insecurity and promoting wellness.

  • Clinic (Requires a separate application and selection process)- Monday 7-8 PM: Joining Clinic committee requires a high standard of work, attendance, and commitment from Fall quarter through Spring 2027. Members will be trained as Clinic Leads responsible for handling pre-clinic logistics, managing on-site volunteers and communication, and completing post-clinic reporting. In addition to leading clinics, members will assist the Clinic Manager and Trainer as needed, making a flexible schedule ideal. Expect to attend weekly one-hour in-person meetings during Fall quarter.

  • Internal Affairs (Requires a separate application and selection process)- Monday 5-6 PM: The Internal Affairs committee manages the process behind member onboarding and recruitment, maintaining records of all the members, and handling committee placement.  Additional tasks include improving member development by expanding ing the mentorship program, hosting workshops, and developing the ACE alumni network.

Committees will convene once a week for a maximum duration of 1 hour. Locations and meeting times will be determined at the discretion of the committee heads. These meetings are independent from the biweekly general meetings
